What we’re about:

We are known for our warm, welcoming atmosphere, fun and challenging classes, professional and talented instructors, and the most beautiful studio space (we might be biased) in Cranbrook.

Our students and dedicated teachers make our little studio a community first, and we welcome all to join us. We offer varying style of yoga, meditation, ball rolling, and workshops to deepen your practice.

Our classes focus on a registered series approach because we feel commitment to self is borne out of a commitment to practice. We aim to be flexible however, and do allow for drop-in attendance if space allows.

Our mission at The Inner Roar is that everyone is welcomed and everyone is seen. We endeavour to run a space that feels inviting, safe and compassionate.

We strongly believe that the practice of yoga is both highly personal and completely universal, that together we can hold space for one another to grow.

Where we’re at:

  • Access and parking at rear of property (through laneway)

Fequently Asked Q’s:

Descriptions for each class can be found by clicking a class in the scheduler. We teach a variety of class styles ranging from Vinyasa, Hatha, Yin, & Restorative. We also run specialized classes like LYT® and The Roll Model® Method and hold special events & workshops.

No, please use our scheduling tool (found under “schedule” on the top menu) to book your class. As we are a small, limited capacity space, we do not hold spots without payment. You can also book in person at the studio before or after class.

The Inner Roar takes all forms of payment – cash, debit, credit. Our preference is for students to use the online scheduler and payment system, but you can always pay in person at the studio. Your cards must have ‘tap’ enabled to use our studio payment processor.

The Inner Roar is a small studio. We do not have a dedicated change room but we do have a sizeable and private restroom you are welcome to change in.

The studio has a small selection of Lululemon mats available for a $2.

YES!

Being flexible and/or strong is NOT a prerequisite to practicing yoga. In fact, if we want to become more flexible, strong, patient, kind, etc we have to practice.

A physical yoga practice is  great way to increase your flexibility, build strength, coordination and balance (both physically and mentally).

The most important thing is to listen to your body. Yoga is not a competitive practice, and there is no one right way to do a posture.

We encourage you to ask your instructor for help if something doesn’t quite right in your body while you practice – there are modifications and adaptations for every pose.

  • A yoga mat, (for hygienic purposes, it is recommended that you bring your own yoga mat), we also have mats available for rent ($2)
  • Water, please make sure you arrive at class hydrated and that you have had something to eat that day – but don’t arrive with a full stomach
  • Clothing should be loose and/or stretchy (essentially wear whatever you would normally wear to the gym), we recommend bringing layers as you may heat up and cool down at various points during class

Please park responsibly:

  • we are in a residential neighbourhood, please be aware and respect our neighbours!
  • do not park along our neighbours fence (i.e: in the alley)
  • do not park behind the small shop on the corner of our property
  • pull in close to the studio, our fence and students who have already arrived
  • before entering, check that you are not blocking or sticking out into the alley
  • if you are uncertain if you will fit, park along 11th ave (facing north)
  • we would prefer our students do not park on 4A St, as it is very congested and offers limited space for the folks who live on it!
